End-fed half wave antenna
WebMar 10, 2010 · For portable radio operation, I like End-Fed Half-Wavelength Antennas (EFHWA, pronounced “EF-WAH”). This type of antenna is similar to the common half-wavelength dipole, but with one significant advantage. A dipole has its feedpoint (where it connects to the radio) in the middle of the antenna, but an EFHWA’s feedpoint is at one … WebA special case of this, is the End-Fed Half-Wave (EFHW) antenna. Obviously, an EFHW antenna has a "half-wave" length only at one specific frequency. So, a "multi-band end-fed half-wave" antenna is actually a bit of a misnomer... A "half-wavelength" radiator has a high impedance ( = high voltage, low current) at the feedpoint.

There are three types of antenna feeds in popular use: 1) transformer feed, 2) L-matching network feed, and 3) Zepp. The transformer feed variety may be broadband and, depending upon its …
WebJun 13, 2024 · A common half wave end fed antenna is the J-pole or the end fed zepp. This antenna uses a quarter wave open wire transmission line as an impedance transformer. The transmission line (of any impedance) is shorted at one end (Z=0) and open at the other (Z=infinite), and a feed point is placed in between where Z=~50. ...
WebThere are two main benefits in using an end fed half wave antenna over a coax fed half wave dipole. The main benefit is that the antenna feed impedance is around 2500 ohms and very little RF current flows into the RF earth or counterpoise. In many applications the coax feed to the antenna matching unit will act as an efficient counterpoise. is charlene prickett still aliveWebULTIMAX HW-END FED (NO TUNER ANTENNA) $149.00 - $165.00 The ULTIMAX Half-Wave End-Fed antennas are the perfect antenna for those that prefer not to used or … is charlene gallego still aliveWebEnd Fed 80 - 10 meters HF Multi Band Antenna 600 watts 9:1 unun with Kevlar wires.
