Cullin-ring ligases
WebAbstract: Cullin-RING E3 ligases (CRLs) are the largest family of E3 ubiquitin ligases, responsible for about 20% of the protein degradation by the ubiquitin-proteasome system (UPS). Given their vital roles in multiple cellular processes, and over-activation in many human cancers, CRLs are validated as promising targets for anti-cancer therapies. WebAug 28, 2013 · Modular CULLIN-RING ubiquitin ligases (CRLs) are the most prevalent class of E3s, comprising hundreds of distinct CRL complexes with the potential to recruit as many and even more protein substrates.

Outside of plants, other related complexes with different Cullins exist, which explains here the absence of a CUL2-containing complex. (d) Scheme of SCF TIR1 with a bound Aux/IAA substrate, for example, AXR3.
WebCullins are a family of hydrophobic scaffold proteins which provide support for ubiquitin ligases (E3). All eukaryotes appear to have cullins. They combine with RING … WebIt determines the activity and remodeling of ~700 cullin-RING ubiquitin ligases (CRLs), which control more than 20% of all ubiquitylation events in cells and thereby influence virtually any cellular pathway.
