WebI'm currently playing a lot of BGEE but am planning to move on to BG2EE in the near future. I recently soloed BGEE with a Cleric/Thief and had a lot of fun with it. Cleric spells are pretty powerful in BG1 and this combo was pretty great at backstabbing with quarterstaves, once my stealth scores were high enough to do it consistently. WebI agree with the canon party for a first playthrough, but if you want to branch out, I would go with Ajantis (paladin), Alora (thief), Xan (enchanter), Yeslick (fighter/cleric) and Neera (wild mage). Alora and Yeslick are great, but you can't get them till chapters 4 and 5, so they're maybe a hard sell.
